i have had the opportunity the last few weeks to substitute in primary. today i was lucky enough to get to teach the sunbeams! haha. our lesson today was on how we should treat animals with respect. the kids kept making the funniest comments and they kept me laughing the whole class hour. i asked the kids to name their favorite animal, and little isaac potter said his was a mule deer. ha! you will probably not find this funny unless you know the family isaac comes from. the potters, who are the cutest little family that live just down the street, are the biggest hunting family you will meet. i gave isaac's mom a hard time after church about brainwashing her son. there was also a boy that kept rubbing my sleeve because he said "he liked the texture of it." haha. but the worst thing that happened was this little boy needed to go to the bathroom so i went to take him and he is standing my the toilet and he was like... i need you to hold it like mommy does. i was like 8l (eyes bulging). the only thing i could think was "where in the heck is this boy's mother?!" haha dont worry i had him sit down like a good little girl. ;) this is only half of the story but i think i will save the rest for another day... haha.
well jessica alaska stopped by my house today. she is a totally different person than she was when she moved away from here a year ago. she was mature, beautiful, and... normal. haha i actually really enjoyed talking to her and was very surprised how much she has changed. it is amazing what can happen in such a short time

Good Ol' Bernie
Well folks, i have decided it is time i start a blog. not that anyone is reading this, but i need to record my thoughts so i figured this is the perfect way.
Well, i am now officially completed with my first semester of college! it was quite the experience. I have never learned so much in such a short time as i have these last four months. Not only in my classes, but just about life in general. Living with roommates for the first time, being away from my family and friends, and really challenging myself has been so good for me. I have learned a lot about the people around me as well as myself and, even though I didn't particularly enjoy my time at college, I wouldn't take it back for anything. I love the fact that when we are going through the hardest times in our lives is when we grow the most.
Alrighty well let me give you a brief summary of my plans for the near future. I am planning on working til april and then starting school up for the spring block. Jordan, grace and I are planning on going to Europe to do a study abroad program for a little under a month and then we will return home and finish the second block out on campus at BYUI. I then hope to finish out the prerequisites I need in the fall so that I will be able to apply for nursing school in the winter. Although i have not made my final decision, i am leaning towards UVU. Any advice? Haha oh wait... :)
Jordan comes home in less than a month! It will be so good to have him back. It will be good for me to have him around and have someone to talk to about things. I am so excited!!
Well today my car that has served my so faithfully for the last three years of my life passed away. Though it will be hard to let him go, i know it was time for my good friend to leave me. Me and Bernie, as named by a friend, have had some great memories together. i will never be able to find a car to replace him and the impact he has had on my high school/college life will always be remembered. And he held out to the end! It wasn't until I pulled into my driveway for the last time this semester that he gave out. what a pal! i knew he would hold out until the end..
Well, i'm sorry that this post has been extremely boring. but now that you are filled in on what is going on in my life, i will now only post new and exciting things on this page. I will end with my two highlights of the day:
1. Going to the hospital with the Sheehy family and putting on a recital for some of the people that are spending their Christmas season there. Their family makes me so happy! They have the five cutest, sweetest kids you will ever meet. Some day i hope my family is as cute and happy as theirs.
2. Going snowboarding tonight with a few of my friends. It felt so good to be back up on the mountain! Even though i will probably not be able to move in the morning, it was definitely worth it. Good thing i don't have to play the cello in church tomorrow eh?
